About Artist:
Fred Paulson was born in Maple Ridge BC, Canada and has lived in many parts of British Columbia including the Fraser Valley, the North Coast, the Peace region and the Interior of the province. Currently, his home is in White Rock, BC where he maintains his studio. His formal training includes Emily Carr College of Art and Design in Vancouver, BC, as well as, Douglas College in Surrey, BC. Fred has worked in many media over the years including oil, watercolour, pastel, acrylic, and coloured pencil, depicting many subjects from landscapes and seascapes to still lives and florals. Fred’s main focus currently is to explore the natural world of plants and flowers, capturing the essence of their light and colour. Fred is an “Active” Member of The Federation of Canadian Artists. His work has been featured in solo shows, as well as, many group shows. His coloured pencil technique was recently displayed in an article that appeared in the Artist's Magazine as well as Drawing Magazine. Fred's work has placed as a Finalist in the Artist's Magazine's Annual International Art Competition twice. Fred's work can be found in private and corporate collections around the world.
