About Artist:
ABOUT THE ARTIST Mimo K was born in Beirut to Armenian parents in 1947. His father's idea of a family weekend was to pack up the kids, easel, brushes and canvases and head to the beautiful beaches or mountains of Lebanon. This had a huge artistic influence for young Mimo. In his formative years Mimo discovered an artistic outlet in music where he found national success as a singer/songwriter for many years. His entire working career has been steeped in creativity. He's been a silk-screener, a pre-production cameraman and designed commercial campaigns for American companies in the Middle East when he operated his own PR firm.

Statement:
ABOUT THE ART Mimo first picked up a brush in 2003. An amazing explosion of colours and shapes emerged. As a self-taught artist, he has no fear. Resorting to common artist's supplies only when nothing else will do, he experiments with tools and substrates endlessly. He enthusiastically explores colours, forms, subjects and moods as if each piece was his first artistic experience. As a result of this artistic restlessness, his work is totally unpredictable. We have told him that he was born to be a visual artist. All those other years were spent collecting concepts of imagery and moods that he would some day put to canvas or parchment or wood or stone.
